LuckyStudent.Com Brings Out Red "T" & Rolls Out the Red Carpet

Getting Boned Curious about LuckyStudent.Com? Just ask me.

If t-shirts could talk, this one would have a story worthy of an article in some gossip magazine or blog.  You know the kind.

Unsuspectingly hoisted out of its cramped space and passed among band members whose 'instrument loving fingers' groped, stretched, and wrapped around the very cotton fibre of its being.  This t-shirt was in for a true awakening!

One could only imagine what psychological effect the experience would leave on this sole t-shirt.  On the other hand, some people might remark under their breath, "Lucky piece of cloth! I hate you."

Written with a standard Sharpie, the signatures that were graffitied on the red-dyed American Apparel shirt were that of a rising Canadian indie band, "Dinosaur Bones".  This five member band held an up-close-and-personal performance for fans, media, and our LS team.  Never had the brick-walled office space witnessed such a night.  But we shouldn't assume.

Band member names are as follows: Josh Byrne (guitar), Lucas Fredehe (drums), Ben Fox (vocals), Branko Scekic (bass), and Dave Wickland (keyboard).  Each member was equally as charming as they were mesmerizing.  The performance was even better than expected and exceeded fan's expectations.

The evening couldn't have been any more perfect.  The sound and lighting were just right, there was more than enough food to go around, well known local media were present, and everyone in attendance was pumped.  So pumped in fact that the water pipes in the open space kitchen-slash-lounge-slash-gaming room-slash-stage had leaked after the event and mops had to be brought out.  Coffee grounds seem to always slip through the drain creating a wad of goop that sits at the bottom of the "U".  The issue was immediately solved, thanks to volunteers (see photo below).

Indeed, the evening was a definite success.  Not only did guests partake in the evening, but the event was also shared online via live streaming.  Those that logged on to the live stream channel were able to witness the behind-the-scenes preparation, the entire music set, the interview with the band, and some of the socializing that took place.

Stay tuned as we post coverage on the interview as well as sharing the rest of the event footage.

In the meantime, here's a few shots of the evening, taken before, during and after.

Working and living downtown saves me time plus $6 a day on Toronto's Transit, especially when it's only a 12 minute streetcar ride from my flat. Living downtown off of the same street your work is on is quite "Rad". Biking to work for exercise, lowering gas emissions, stimulating by brain faculties as well as enjoying the feeling of being truly mobile simply ROCKS.
